Over the past year, we’ve been busy expanding our Data Science, Media Operations, and Product Strategy teams. Naturally, we’ve also brought some amazing new BNAUTS along for the ride to space.
Ani Tumanyan joins our expanding Data Team as a software engineer. She works on several key projects related to the popular Recommendation Tool Vu, which was developed with advanced machine learning and NLP features.
“I’m excited to be in a creative and productive work environment, which makes me learn and grow as a software engineer.” – Ani
Prior to BNOTIONS, Ani Tumanyan did an internship at Toronto Rehabilitation Institute. There she had the chance to work on a project called StreetLab, the first hydraulic motion simulator that can mimic everyday environmental challenges faced by older people and those with disabling injury or illness.Using different cutting edge artificial intelligence studies, Ani helped to make the simulator’s “scenery” more realistic and human. She also added human behaviors to the experience, such as overtaking maneuvers for pedestrians and vehicles, and helped to balance interactions between internal and external players.
Ani is originally from Armenia and came to Toronto less than two years ago to continue her education. So far, so good — she loves Toronto and the variety that the city offers.
When not working, Ani is an active person and loves discovery in all aspects of life. She’s especially interested in photography, travelling, and cooking.
Because our projects demand a strong competency in Media Operations, we’re excited to announce the addition of Nafiz Somani to the BNOTIONS family!
As Manager of Media Operations, Nafiz manages advertising operations from pre-launch to post-campaign data analysis and oversees the implementation and quality control of all campaigns. Nafiz plans on executing the build of an innovative self-serve media buying platform to service all of BNOTIONS’ existing and future clients.
“I have been given a very unique opportunity to be a part of the BNOTIONS team, and I feel extremely fortunate to be able to contribute everything I possibly can for the betterment of the company. I finally feel like I have found a home where I am constantly pushed to my creative limits, and I hope that I can do the same for my colleagues. I have a diverse international background, from which I have learned that anything is possible and that hard work and dedication lead to real results.” – Nafiz
Nafiz Somani brings to the table over 10 years of operational management and media operations experience, including hands-on experience in project management, product launch, resource management and media buying. In his previous role at SiteScout, Nafiz lead the product teams in building a self-serve media buying platform, which is currently serving over 15 billion impressions per month.
When not working, Nafiz says he enjoys basketball, tennis and camping. He also loves music and collecting classic records from the 80s and 90s.
John Maden joins us as a Product Analyst on the Strategy and Product teams.
John is an experienced data and market analyst with experience both in and out of tech. After graduating with a B.Comm from Queen’s University in 2009, John started a venture in solar energy. His role there was in both investor relations and financial modeling, looking at how to profit from the newly passed Green Energy Act. After having his proposal backlogged, John made the break into technology, working in product analytics and investor relations at the Toronto-based startup Jugnoo. There John designed and executed Jugnoo’s analytics program, working with current and prospective investors to take them through the value of the platform.
“I’m very excited to be a part of BNOTIONS and to be surrounded by people who truly are the best at what they do. The culture here is amazing, and I’m excited to join the team on our mission to space.” – John
We’re very excited to have Ani, Nafiz and John join our family. Welcome to the team!
